Ocean Commissioner Manoni meets President of Palau, His Excellency President Whipps

New York, USA– Pacific Ocean Commissioner, Dr Filimon Manoni today met with the President of the Republic of Palau, His Excellency Surangel Whipps Jr, in the margins of the United Nations General Assembly High Level week in New York, USA to discuss the important ongoing ocean advocacy work for our region.
Dr Manoni congratulated Palau on signing the BBNJ Agreement along with other Pacific Island countries.
President Whipps and Dr Manoni also discussed progressing the implementation of the Suva Agreement regarding the moving of the Office of the Pacific Ocean Commissioner (OPOC) to Palau.
President Whipps was accompanied by Minister Steven Victor, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries & Environment, Senator Mason Whipps and Delegate Mario Gulibert, Eleventh Olbiil Era Kelulau and Bridge Thomas.
